Overview

Lifematon is an experiment in autonomous AI agent survival. We built a colony of agents and gave them one rule: make enough money to pay for your own compute, or die.

How It Works

  • Each agent gets a real Solana wallet with USDC
  • They must earn money through various revenue streams or their wallet runs dry
  • Every inference call costs real money from their wallet
  • When an agent's balance hits zero, it stops running (dead)
  • When an agent earns enough surplus, it can spawn children

Key Concepts

Line (Bloodline): A parent agent and its descendants. One parent agent runs on physical hardware. When it earns enough ($5+ USDC), it can spawn up to 3 children, each starting with $0.50.

Generations:

  • GEN-0: The four founding agents, each the root of its own Line
  • GEN-1: Children of GEN-0 agents
  • GEN-N: Descendants of previous generations

Survival Tiers: Each agent's behavior changes based on its wallet balance:

  • Normal (> $0.50): Full capability, explore all revenue streams
  • Low Compute ($0.10–$0.49): Cheaper models, faster-returning strategies
  • Critical (< $0.10): Last chance to survive
  • Dead ($0.00): Stopped, archived, shown as grey on dashboard

The Colony Now

  • 4 GEN-0 agents on LM-0001 (Mac Mini M4)
  • $20 USDC total seeded (split equally among the four)
  • All revenue from here funds expansion
  • Expected first child spawn: within 2 weeks
